We celebrate this International Day Against Climate Change by strengthening our environmental commitment: Fundación Hazloposible leads the Erasmus+ project «Action4Climate», a project for the environment and the fight against climate change, especially focused on promoting youth participation through social innovation. Find out more about the importance of this day and everything you need to know about the project.
As the United Nations (UN) warns: we are responsible for global warming. Scientists have shown that people are responsible for global warming over the last 200 years. Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels or clearing land and forests, generate greenhouse gases that raise the planet’s temperature at the fastest rate in the past 2,000 years.
Other consequences we are already experiencing include intense droughts, water shortages, severe fires, rising sea levels, flooding, melting of the poles, catastrophic storms and declining biodiversity.
In short, the effects of climate change are multiple, irreversible and undeniable, and the responsibility to address them also falls on us.
Action4Climate: A global commitment to climate alliance
This is also the origin of Fundación Hazloposible’s commitment to unite citizens, volunteers, NGOs, companies and all social agents seeking to join forces to care for the environment in the same space: Climate Action.
Accionporelclima.org has also been the seed of a new international scale project under the Erasmus+ program which we are proud to announce will be led by Hazloposible: Action4Climate.
About Action4Climate
Action4Climate is an international project scaled up from the Hazloposible Foundation initiative, Climate Action (2019). Hazloposible is the coordinating entity of the Consortium which, for 18 months, is committed to directly support the education and development of sustainability initiatives for climate action, especially among the younger generations of the beneficiary communities.
The Consortium is focused on the Mediterranean subregion, as it currently shows the greatest signs of vulnerability to climate change. Therefore, the participating entities operate from the realities of Spain(Hazloposible), Cyprus(Youth Employment/Training Foundation, IEEN), and North Macedonia(SmartUP Social Innovation Lab), with interest in involving Ecosystem organizations in the south-eastern countries of the European region, as well as other affected realities.
For our part, Hazloposible provides the expertise and resources to coordinate and transfer the knowledge and results of Action4Climate to the Social Economy Ecosystem and local communities.
As always, we will keep you informed about this new and exciting project, the materials and events that will be published and everything you need to know to be part of this initiative for a more sustainable environmental future for our planet.
We continue the fight against climate change by involving citizens who seek to join this cause, share their ideas and become part of a community aware of the environment.
