Last Monday, the city of Nicosia (Cyprus) became a meeting point for climate action youth with the celebration of a Climathon very special. This event brought to 86 participants and more than 10 partner organizations, mainly in the ecosystem, cyprus, coupled entities of Spain, and Macedonia, all of them committed to sustainability and working with youth.
An event to share, apply, and multiply impact
This Climathon was not only a day of collaborative work, but also a multiplier event which was a perfect end to the european project Action4Climate. A space designed to share the results achieved during the project and, above all, to take them to practice in a dynamic environment, and participatory.
Throughout the day, participants worked together in the generation of ideas and solutions to the climate challenges of today, applying methodologies and learning developed during the last few months.
Youth protagonist of the change
The event counted with the participation of organizations that are actively working on the development of skills, learning and empowerment of young people as educators, innovators and climate activists. All of them with a common goal: to promote the change from their local communities.
Communicating the climate to combat misinformation
One of the key axes of the day was to reflect on how to communicate climate change more effectively. In this sense, he worked especially on:
- The narrative data
- The use of stories, weather
- Strategies to combat misinformation
A fundamental approach to strengthen the role of the entities and of the youth as agents of change is informed and engaged.
A european project with real impact
From Fundación Hazloposible, driving platform for Climate Action, we have been proud to lead this project since October, 2024 to march 2026, creating spaces for collaboration, learning and innovation with tangible impact. This project has received the support of the European Union, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation to address the challenges of global climate.
Thank you for being a part of the path
We want to thank all the participants and organizations that have contributed to the development of the project throughout these months. A special recognition to our partners of the consortium: smartup time and Youth Employment Training Foundation (YETF), for their commitment and constant collaboration.
