Consortium Information

Action4Climate is an international scaled-up project of Fundación Hazloposible’s initiative, Action for Climate (2019). Hazloposible is the coordinator of the Consortium which, for 18 months, is committed to directly support the education and development of sustainability initiatives for
climate action, especially among the young generation of the beneficiary communities. The Consortium is focused on the Mediterranean subregion, as it currently shows the greatest signs of vulnerability to climate change. Therefore, the participating entities operate from the realities of Spain, Cyprus and North Macedonia, with interest in involving Ecosystem organizations in the countries of the south-eastern European region, as well as other affected realities. Hazloposible provides the expertise and resources to coordinate and transfer the knowledge and results of Action4Climate to the Social Economy Ecosystem and local communities.

SmartUP Social Innovation Lab is an organization driven by the firm belief in the transformative power of social innovation. Founded in 2014, SmartUP grew out of a shared desire to create positive change. The organization’s team uses customized design processes to understand complex challenges and engage and connect organizations and individuals to co-design and realize solutions with lasting impact. Its vision is to shape a sustainable, equitable and prosperous region, transformed by innovation and co-creation. Given its expertise and in-house resources, SmartUP is leading WP2, contributing to Action4Climate in the proven development of a participatory methodology for truth-based storytelling. In this way, interested citizens and professionals have tools to combat green disinformation with objective cases and facts that support mitigation and adaptation to Climate Change in the realities of the European region, especially in the Mediterranean sub-region.

The Youth Employment/Training Foundation (IEEN), a non-profit organization in Cyprus, focuses on
improving the skills of young people (15+), aligning with EU objectives. It develops soft and digital skills, raises awareness of youth issues, supports vulnerable groups, addresses inequalities, promotes green practices and facilitates intergenerational programs. Since 2014, IEEN has been tackling challenges such as disabilities, illiteracy and rural isolation, while driving green initiatives such as ECOAGE and Second Life. It participates in EU-funded projects and offers expertise in project management, research, healthcare and training. As part of the Action4Climate project, IEEN is leading WP3, co-creating and testing digital educational materials for youth. It will also co-organize the Climathon in Cyprus for International Climate Change Mitigation Day, designing a hybrid event to invite participants from all over Europe to contribute to mitigation strategies.
